12569751 EVAP Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Valve For 35916 GMC Chevrolet Pontia

Aftermarket New Direct Replacement 2-Year Warranty OE Spec Multiple Interchanges

Product Overview

The EVAP (Evaporative Emission) Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Valve is a critical component of your vehicle's fuel vapor management system. Its job is to regulate the flow of fuel vapors stored in the charcoal canister back into the intake manifold so they can be burned during combustion. When this solenoid fails or becomes stuck, the Check Engine Light typically illuminates, fuel economy drops, and you may notice a strong fuel smell around the vehicle or difficulty refueling. In many cases, a faulty purge valve also triggers diagnostic trouble codes such as P0440, P0443, P0446, or P0455.

This replacement valve is engineered to meet or exceed original equipment specifications. It is built from high-grade materials that resist heat, vibration, and chemical degradation, ensuring reliable sealing and precise solenoid response over thousands of miles. Every unit is tested for stable performance across a wide temperature range (-40 to 60 °C), so you can count on consistent purge flow whether you're driving in subzero winter conditions or hot summer traffic. The valve matches the factory form, fit, and function of the original part — no adapters, modifications, or special tools required.

Designed as a direct plug-and-play replacement for a wide family of GM, Saab, and Mini applications, this solenoid offers exceptional value compared to a dealer-purchased unit. Whether you drive a Chevrolet truck, a Buick sedan, a Pontiac sports coupe, or a Saab 9-3, this part restores your emissions system to proper working order and helps you pass smog inspections with confidence. With a 2-year manufacturer warranty included, you can install it and forget it.

Key Features & Benefits

✔ Direct OE Replacement Fit
Engineered to the same dimensions and connector layout as the factory valve. Installs in minutes without wiring splices, adapters, or bracket modifications — just unplug the old unit and clip the new one in place.
✔ Clears Check Engine Light
Eliminates common EVAP-related trouble codes (P0440, P0443, P0446, P0455) by restoring proper purge flow. Helps you pass emissions testing quickly without chasing intermittent vacuum leaks.
✔ All-Weather Durability
Rated for continuous operation from -40 °C to +60 °C. The solenoid body and internal seals resist cracking, sticking, or seizing due to extreme cold, engine bay heat, or exposure to fuel vapors and moisture.
✔ Restores Fuel Economy & Refueling Ease
A stuck-open or stuck-closed purge valve can cause hard starting after fill-ups, rough idle, and reduced mileage. This replacement normalizes the purge cycle so your engine runs cleanly and efficiently in all driving conditions.
✔ Wide Multi-Brand Compatibility
Covers dozens of GM models (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile, Pontiac) as well as Mini Cooper and Saab 9-3. One valve handles multiple OE part numbers — confirmed cross-reference included for easy verification.
✔ Backed by 2-Year Warranty
Manufacturer warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for two full years. Install with peace of mind knowing your investment is protected long after the purchase date.

Installation Guide

Replacing the EVAP purge solenoid valve is a straightforward task that most DIYers can complete in under 30 minutes. Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. No special tools are required — just a flat-blade screwdriver or trim removal tool (to disconnect the electrical connector) and a pair of pliers (to release the vapor line hose clamp). Always allow the engine to cool completely before starting work, and wear eye protection when working around fuel system components.

1
Locate the purge valve. It is typically mounted on or near the intake manifold, throttle body, or engine vacuum line. On most GM applications it sits near the front of the engine, attached to a bracket with a two-wire electrical connector and one or two rubber vapor hoses.
2
Disconnect the electrical connector. Press the release tab on the harness connector and gently pull it straight off the solenoid. Do not yank the wires — use a small flat-blade screwdriver to carefully release the locking tang if it is stuck.
3
Remove the vapor hose(s). Loosen the hose clamp with pliers or a screwdriver, then twist and pull the hose free. If the hose is stuck, gently rock it back and forth while pulling. Be careful not to crack the plastic nipple on the valve.
4
Unbolt or unclip the old valve. The solenoid is usually held by one or two 10mm bolts or a spring clip. Remove the fastener and lift the old valve off its mounting bracket.
5
Install the new valve. Position the replacement solenoid onto the bracket, secure it with the original fastener, and reconnect the vapor hose(s). Tighten the clamp just enough to create an airtight seal — over-tightening can deform the plastic nipple.
6
Reconnect the electrical connector and test. Push the harness connector onto the new solenoid until you hear a click. Start the engine and let it idle for 2-3 minutes. Check for vacuum leaks (a hissing sound) and verify the Check Engine light stays off. Clear any stored codes with an OBD-II scanner.
