Product Overview
The Alternating Pressure Mattress is a specialized therapeutic bed pad designed to prevent and manage pressure ulcers (bedsores) and pressure sores in individuals who are bedridden, immobilized, or have limited mobility. Featuring 22 individual air chambers arranged in two alternating groups of 11, this system continuously cycles inflation and deflation every 10 minutes—gently shifting pressure points across the body to promote healthy blood circulation and reduce tissue damage. Unlike standard foam overlays, this dynamic alternating system actively works to relieve sustained pressure on vulnerable areas such as the heels, sacrum, and elbows.
Built with premium medical-grade vinyl, the mattress pad is fully waterproof and supports up to 135 kg (297 lbs), making it durable enough for long-term care use while remaining easy to clean and maintain. The included ultra-quiet variable pressure pump operates at ≤20 dB—softer than a whisper—ensuring undisturbed sleep for patients and caregivers alike. With multiple adjustable pressure levels, caregivers can customize the firmness to match the patient’s weight, comfort needs, and sensitivity.
This system fits seamlessly onto standard hospital beds and most home bed frames, requiring no special tools for setup. The flexible, non-binding air hoses connect easily between pad and pump, while the built-in feces hole provides convenient access for hygiene routines without removing the entire mattress. Backed by a 1-year pump warranty and 90-day pad warranty, the Tcare Alternating Pressure Mattress delivers professional-grade pressure sore therapy in the comfort of home or facility care settings.

Fitment & Compatible Bed Types
Designed to lay directly on top of an existing mattress or bed frame, this alternating pressure pad fits a wide range of standard bed configurations. Below are common compatible setups:
Note: Not recommended for cribs, toddler beds, or beds shorter than 74″ in length. Always confirm that the pump is positioned on a flat, stable surface near an electrical outlet.
Installation & How to Use
- 1 Place the mattress pad — Lay the inflatable pad flat on top of your existing mattress or bed frame with the feces hole positioned near the center or lower back area of the patient. Smooth out any folds or creases.
- 2 Connect the air hoses — Attach the two flexible air hoses from the pad to the corresponding outlets on the pump. Push until they click or seat firmly—no tools required. Ensure hoses are not kinked or pinched.
- 3 Set the pump — Place the pump on a stable, flat surface near the head or foot of the bed (within reach of a 110–120 V outlet). Keep the air intake vents unobstructed for proper airflow.
- 4 Power on & adjust pressure — Plug the pump into the wall outlet and turn it on. Use the pressure control dial or switch to select the desired firmness level—start at a lower setting and increase gradually based on the patient’s weight and comfort.
- 5 Confirm alternating function — Verify that both groups of air chambers are alternately inflating and deflating (you should see one side rise while the other softens). The cycle runs automatically every 10 minutes. Place a fitted sheet over the pad for patient comfort if desired.
